Groups

Sometimes healing happens in good company.

Joanna offers in-person groups in Roanoke, Virginia designed around connection, shared experience, and the understanding that some things feel different when they are explored alongside other people.

Groups create space to learn, reflect, practice, and connect with others around something that matters to you.

Each group has its own focus and structure, but the work is always thoughtfully paced, collaborative, and grounded in emotional safety.

Why Group Work?

Individual work gives you space to focus entirely on your own experience. Groups offer something different: the opportunity to recognize yourself in other people's experiences and discover that some of what you carry isn't yours alone.

A group can offer perspective, connection, and the chance to practice new ways of relating in real time. You can participate at your own pace. There is no expectation that you arrive ready to share everything or know exactly what you want from the experience.

What to Expect

Joanna's groups are structured around a specific topic or shared experience rather than open-ended group therapy.

Depending on the group, meetings may include guided discussion, education, reflection, experiential exercises, or opportunities to practice new skills. Each offering will clearly explain its purpose, format, schedule, and who it is designed for before you decide whether to participate.

Some groups may be therapeutic, while others may be educational, experiential, or community-based. The details of each offering will always be clear.
